Get your Vancouver postcards or hand-crafted art

Traveling in a place as popular as Vancouver means tons of tourist gift shops.  Many sell the same set of Vancouver-themed gifts:

• Vancouver hats
• Vancouver calendars
• Canada flags
• Vancouver magnets

Yes, it's always nice to take home a few postcards.  I like seeking out truly unique products made by artisans.

If you can, seek out a First Nations (native Canadians) store with hand-crafted artwork. Certainly more expensive than a postcard, this stuff is unique and different from what you can buy back home.

I really like buying small, inexpensive locally crafted artworks when traveling.  A small backpack-sized painting done by a local painter can often be had for around $20.
