Squirrel Tails and Beer Trails at UBC Botanical Garden
If you are in Vancouver and like to experience nature, the 70 acre UBC Botanical Garden is a good place to visit. Besides the thousands of plants, there are a few interesting signs.
Now, I usually don't pay attention to squirrels, but this sign by the entrance made me think twice. The squirrels at UBC botanical gardens must be in the habit of scaring people. Why else would there be a sign on a trash bin reading "Caution: Please open carefully as there may be a squirrel inside"?
The squirrels must have been jumping out onto unsuspecting tourists. At least that is what this sign implies.
Someone sure went through a lot of trouble to print this sign and have it laminated. It must be for good reason.
The Baddest Car to Ever Drive in Vancouver
I spotted this car one day while driving through the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver, near the beach. A classic Chrysler. It looks like a 1946 or 1947 Chrysler Town and Country woody.
Whatever it is, it has to be the baddest car to ever drive the streets of Vancouver. If Chuck Norris needed to drive a car this would be his car. Though we all know Chuck Norris doesn't drive because he is already everywhere.
Here's some detailed pictures. You need to see this thing up close to appreciate it.
Stanley Park Coyotes and Raccoons are Evil Minnions of Hell
Beware of the coyotes and racoons in Vancouver's Stanley Park. Don't believe me? I took pictures of warning signs.
"Coyotes are wild animals and can be dangerous. Do not encourage them to approach. They are smart, fast and will take what they can get."
"Keep them at a distance!...Never feed coyotes!"
I had heard that coyotes could be dangerous but this sign puts things in perspective - they are smart and fast too. Even scarier is that coyotes "will take what they can get." What does this mean? I can only speculate that the people who created this sign were under attack by coyotes and did not have time to fill in the details. My guess:
