In one area of the market building, there are rows of food vendors with plenty of seating in between.  Last time, I enjoyed savory and sweat crepes from a French vendor.

The service is quick and if you're in the area, getting food from Granville Island Public Market will likely be cheaper than going to a restaurant.

If the weather is nice, try to eat outside so you can take in the view.  This is one of the best views in Vancouver. Aqua Bus (Photo by Phil~)

The Granville Island Public Market is a good place to pick up some pack-and-go food for the rest of your trip.  Fruit, cheese, breads - whatever you want, it's in the market somewhere.

Both the Vancouver hop-on hop-off bus and Vancouver trolley make stops at Granville Island.  Or make the visit a part of your aqua bus tour as the aqua bus stops right near the market. aquabus (Photo by meaduva)

The only downside are the hours. Granville Island Public Market does not open until 9AM and closes at 7PM.

So let's review:

  • lots of vendors
  • international atmosphere
  • good place to have a quick, cheap lunch no matter what food you feel like
  • delicious desserts
  • great scenery
  • easy to get there

All this talk of Granville Island Public Market makes me wish I was there right now!
